How to Download & Install PyCharm on your Windows PC

Downloading PyCharm on your PC is quite easy.

The process is the same for all Windows computers, whether you are using Windows 10, Windows 11, or Windows 8.

  1. First Head over to the JetBrains Pycharm page – https://www.jetbrains.com/pycharm/.
  2. On the page, you will see the download button.
  3. Just hit the download button to begin downloading PyCharm on your computer.
  4. Once the download is complete double click on the downloaded file or clicks on the open option.

System requirements for PyCharm

Here are the main system requirement for PyCharm to work properly on your Computer-

  • RAM – Minimum of 4GB ram. But it is recommended that you should have at least 8GB of RAM.
  • CPU – Any modern GPU would work.
  • Disk Space – At least 3.5 GB for Installation and caches.
  • Operating System – Support Windows from 8 to 11, macOS 10.14 or later. As for Linux Any Linux distribution that supports Gnome, KDE, or Unity DE.
  • Required Python Version – It supports Python 2.7 if you are using older Python 2. Python, it supports from version 3.6 to 3.11 (At the time of writing this post).

How to Get PyCharm Professional Edition for Free

PyCharm Community edition is free forever and if you are a student who is just learning or a hobbyist who is coding just for fun or a small project you don’t actually need a professional edition.

Professional edition if purchased only Pycharm from Jetbrains site would cost you at least $89 for a year.
