The process of downgrading your Beat Saber game on Oculus Quest 2 is completely different from the Steam version.

And here is the complete process that you have to follow in order to Downgrade Beat Saber on Meta Quest 2 –

Follow the Beat Saber Modding Process

In order to install the older version of Beat Saber on your VR handest you first follow through some of the steps to Mod Beat Saber game on Meta Quest 2.

For example, you first have to Set up SideQuest on your Quest 2 and Register and also enable Developer mode on Meta Quest 2.

You have to follow this guide to the point before installing the mods.

 If you are using the latest version the mods might not work for you.

That’s probably why you are downgrading in the first place.

Once these steps are done you can jump to the next step toward Downloading an older version of the Beat Saber game.

Uninstall the Current version using SideQuest

Of course, you can’t downgrade Beat Saber without first uninstalling the current version from your VR headset.

Open SideQuest and make sure that your headset is plugged in.

You have to navigate to the “Apps” section in the SideQuest and click on the Cog (Settings) icon in the far right corner of Beat Saber.

Now simply select “Unistall app”, this uninstalls the current version from your 

Login in your Oculus Quest account

In order to install the older version first you need to head over to – https://developer.oculus.com/ and log in with your Oculus, Meta, or Facebook account.

This account must be the same which you have used to Purchase Beat Saber.

This authorization is needed in order to download the older version in the next step.

Download the Old Beat Saber version that you require

Once the login authorisation has been done, simply head over to – https://www.questmodding.com/ in another tab of the same browser that you have used to log in to your Meta Quest developer account.

Scroll down to the page and will you see a download button labeled something like “Download Beat Saber 1.xx.x”.

Click on the download button and on the new page click on yes when the pop-up opens.

If you haven’t logged into your Oculus account, it’ll show you this warning –

To download games you must be logged in at https://developer.oculus.com/manage/ with an account that owns the game! If you aren’t logged in, you won’t be able to download games.

So just make sure you log into your account, otherwise, it will simply not work.

Further Installation and patches

Downgrading will not simply end with downloading the older APK file of the game.

You also must install the app, but unlike the usual method, you have to do the installation using the SideQuest app.

Simply drag the APK file that we have downloaded to the SideQuest logo in the app section of the SideQuest desktop application.

Search for the “BMBF” app from the main menu of SideQuest and sideload the app.

Now you can Patch your Beat Saber via the BMBF app by following the steps mentioned in “Mod Beat Saber on Meta Quest 2” Guide.
