ChatGPT Now Starting Conversations by Itshelf? -New Upgrade is Getting a Little Too Personal!

Ever had ChatGPT ask how your day’s going like it’s your best buddy?

Well, that’s exactly what happened to a Reddit user named “SentuBill” on Sept. 15. They shared how ChatGPT actually kicked off a conversation by asking how their first day of school was going.

Yep, you read that right—ChatGPT remembered something from previous chats and brought it up, like your best pal who knows all the details you wish they’d forget.

According to “SentuBill,” ChatGPT figured out it was their first day of school based on earlier convos they’d had.

And the kicker? ChatGPT casually mentioned that this impressive memory was part of a new upgrade. Fancy, huh?

The ChatGPT 01 aka “Strawberry Upgrade”

On Sept. 13, OpenAI rolled out a preview of their newest upgrade, and they’re calling it the “Strawberry” upgrade.

And before you ask, no, it’s not a refreshing summer drink.

OpenAI says this upgrade gives ChatGPT the ability to “think before it answers.” So, it’s like ChatGPT leveled up from answering quizzes to sitting for a Ph.D. defense.

Unlike other ChatGPT modeles here you have to wait for 0-20 seconds for a response while ChatGPT scours the internet, does its research, and then answers like the human would.

Also if you are following my news site CnbDaily, you already know that this updates wasn’t supposed to drop until November 2024, but it dropped earlier and available for all paid users.

However it is casually mentioned it Strawberry here and the update is official named ChatGPT 01.

So instead of calling it ChatGPT 4.5 or GPT 5 they simply name it 01, resetting their naming conventions.

With these new features, who knows what ChatGPT might start doing?

Maybe it’ll remember your dog’s birthday or remind you about that dentist appointment you’ve been avoiding.

Or, better yet, it’ll start sending you perfectly timed “Hey, you got this!” messages when it senses you’re procrastinating on your latest project. Who knows, maybe ChatGPT will be your personal cheerleader soon.

Meanwhile, OpenAI’s been absolutely crushing it lately.

Since April, their products have skyrocketed in popularity, racking up over 1 million users.

Their premium ChatGPT subscriptions and ChatGPT Enterprise service hit around 600,000 subscribers in just a few months.

They’re considering a pretty steep price hike for some of the newer models.

Rumor has it, OpenAI might introduce high-end subscription plans that could cost $2,000 per month.

I don’t know about you, but for that kind of cash, I’d expect ChatGPT to do my laundry and make me coffee every morning.

ChatGPT is already remembering your life like a nosy neighbor. Maybe soon, it’ll start giving you relationship advice or reminding you how often you’ve ordered takeout this week.

Or, better yet, asking, “So, about that workout you said you’d start on Monday…”
